Me Before You
Title: Me Before You
Author: Jojo Moyes
Genre: Fiction, Contemporary, Romance
Page Length: 376 pages
Synopsis: Author Jojo Moyes took the unlikeliest of situations and created an unbelievably moving love story. Louisa Clark and Will Traynor have nothing in common except the small English town they’re both from. She’s never left it. In contrast, Will’s lived a big bold life all over the world. Until an accident leaves him quadriplegic and unwilling to accept a lifetime in his wheelchair. Louisa is hired as his caregiver, tasked with helping him see that life is still worth living.
Book review: Moyes dives deeply and eloquently into the world of living with quadriplegia, the people who take care of them and the world they must navigate which is not ideal, to say the least, for people in wheelchairs. Far from being a downer, this book is life-affirming and celebrates the power of choice, including unfathomable ones.
Final verdict: 5 stars
